Strawberry Basil Iced Tea

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Water Base for the tea.
  • 4 bags Black tea bags Choose your favorite brand for a rich flavor.
  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries Hulled and sliced for easy blending.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves Adds a fragrant herbal note.
  • 1/4 cup Honey or sugar Adjust sweetness to your liking.

Method
 

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a large saucepan. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow to steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  3. In a blender, combine 1 cup of hulled and sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of honey or sugar. Blend until smooth.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves to the blender and pulse a few times to combine without completely pureeing.
  5. In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea and the strawberry basil mixture. Stir well.
  6. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and fresh basil sprigs.
