Ingredients
  

  • 2 pieces Bone-in pork chops About 1 inch thick for optimal juiciness.

  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For searing the chops.
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter Adds richness to the dish.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Brings a savory flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder Adds depth to the seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika Provides a smoky flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Brown sugar Balances the spices with a hint of sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar Adds a tangy kick at the end of cooking.

Instructions
 

  • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick and promote a nice sear.
  • Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture all over the pork chops.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and unsalted butter to the skillet.
  • Once the skillet is hot, carefully add the seasoned pork chops. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In the last minute of cooking, drizzle apple cider vinegar over the chops to add flavor.
  • Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality bone-in pork chops and allow them to come to room temperature before cooking.
