Ingredients
  

For the cookies

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup White sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until well combined.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Take rounded teaspoonfuls of dough and roll them into small balls. Place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Gently flatten each ball to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top of each cookie.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh.
