- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth, then stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the baking soda and salt, then add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until well blended.
- Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. Store leftovers wrapped tightly to keep them fresh.
