Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Fresh fruits of your choice Strawberries, grapes, or mandarin oranges work great.
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar Main ingredient for the syrup.
  • 1/2 cup Water Used to dissolve the sugar.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Lemon juice Adds a nice tang to the syrup.
  • 4 Wooden skewers

Instructions
 

  • Wash the chosen fruits thoroughly and dry them gently with a clean towel. Remove stems from larger fruits like strawberries.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and lemon juice. Stir gently over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil without stirring. Monitor the temperature until it reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  • Carefully thread the prepared fruits onto wooden skewers, creating fun patterns.
  • Once the syrup is ready, quickly dip each skewer of fruit into the syrup, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Allow excess syrup to drip off.
  • Place the coated skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet or silicone mat to cool completely until the candy coating hardens.
  • Serve the tanghulu as a fun snack or dessert, and enjoy the crunchy, sweet treat!
